THE WELLER QUARTET / BEETHOVEN / HAYDN - " STRING QUARTET NO.12 IN E FLAT MAJOR / STRING QUARTET NO.83 IN B FLAT MAJOR ", The Decca Recording Company Ltd (SXL 6423) Stereo, 1969.
Very rare, 1st UK Stereo pressing of the rare '69 Decca LP with the all important wideband Decca Label - see photo.
English issue and pressing.
Professionally cleaned on my Moth record cleaning machine and then put in a fresh new poly-lined inner sleeve.
CONDITION:
VINYL = EXCELLENT- (No scratches, no groove damage, no distortion, just the very lightest of spindle trails, etc. In normal daylight the vinyl appears perfectly clean, under a bright grading lamp I can make out a few very light paper/surface scuffs just visible on the vinyl's surface - although none of these correspond directly to any audible defects. On playback, there is some very faint surface noise just audibile during the silent run-in before the beginning of the tracks and occasionally during some of the quiet beginning sections of certain tracks. However, once the music gets going, it plays well - generally free from interuption from distortion, clicks, pops, etc. Overall, although it is not quite perfect, it is by no means ruined by these tiny imperfections and would still make a good honest copy for someone to play and enjoy (those searching for a museum piece would probably be best off avoiding this particular example though).
Note: for the purposes of this listing I have tested this LP on my Linn LP12 Sondek turntable - generally this is quite a critical test, but I must point out that I cannot guarantee exactly how this LP will sound on your turntable - common sense for most... but then this is ebay!!!)
SLEEVE = V.G.+ (The front of the sleeve isn't too bad, but does suffer a few light creases in the laminate along the spine and top edge, which have caused a very small area of delamination. The rear sleeve is free from any serious damage but a bit grubby round the edges and the white is now more off-white - see photos for further clarification)
