The Who - Massively Rare 1966 UK Mono Reaction 1st Pressing 'A Quick One' !!! Original Rough Textured Blue 1st Press Reaction Labels, with A1//B1 Earliest 1st Press Matrix!!! A Truly Impossible Earliest 1st Press Heavyweight Vinyl Example!!! Complete with Beautiful 1st Press E J Day Fully Laminated Mono 1st Press Sleeve!!! One of the Nicest Looking Examples I Have Ever Seen of This Very Rare Record!!!

You are bidding on the Earliest possible 1966 UK Mono pressing of what is one of the rarest UK Who albums ever made; the classic 'A Quick One'!!! And what's more, this is one of the best examples I have ever seen!!! What can I say about this awesome record!!! It is my opinion is one of The Who's greatest-ever records, even better the My Generation. This record, more than any other, encapsulated what early Who were all about, from Daltrey's cool mod-boy vocals and Pete's chiming guitars to Keef's madman drumming and constant cymbal crashing (which sounds awesome on Mono by the way!) It has pace, energy and tunes by the bucket-load. And it sounds absolutely stunning on original heavy 1st press Mono, straight from the master. This is how The Who wanted it to sound!!! It is just a shame that this record is so rare as a UK Mono 1st press. When it turns up nowadays it is always as one of those terrible sounding weak repress double stereo LP's that were released in the 1970's - 80's, these were much watered down versions and nowhere near as powerful and punchy as the true UK 1st press Thick & Chunky A1//B1 Mono version... This is truly an example of an original Mono 1st pressing sounding far superior in every way to all of the later re-pressings. Unfortunately, on the rare occasions an original mono 1st press 'Quick One' does turn up, it is almost always in terrible condition, very tatty looking and full of background crackle and hiss. There were very, very few copies of this record ever pressed and are surely not many that remain in this kind of condition today!!! This example is one of the best I have ever seen or heard!!! The vinyl is in superb condition and simply impossible to find like this anymore, especially with the earliest possible 1st press A1//B1 Matrix!!! The first things you notice about this earliest Mono 1st pressings is it's incredible weight and thickness!!! The Earliest 1st press E J Day Mono Sleeve is also superb, in EX condition!!! The vinyl is also in beautiful visual and aural condition throughout - in fact it is the most cleanest-sounding example I have ever heard of this record, aside from the very occasional very low level pops (that can absolutely NOT be heard over the music)', this record plays Ex+++ throughout!  - virtually silent between tracks!!! I guess you all know how rare this is for the 1966 UK Mono 1st pressing of this legendary album! It is impossible to find like this anymore, and you will not find a copy that plays more pristinely than this. An impossible clean clear sound (with only the lightest of low level background pops and NO hissing) - straight from the master in punchy Mono; this is how this rare classic is supposed to sound  - don't settle for an inferior conditioned pressing or an inferior quality later pressing. The Classic 1st press rough textured blue Reaction Centre Labels are in superb condition with NO Tears, NO Peeling, NO Staining, No Lifting, NO Scribbles and NO unwanted writing of any kind!!! They are in beautiful un-faded condition and retain the vibrant blue colour only seen in the best kept UK 1st pressings!!!! There are light traces of spindle lines on each side but they are not heavy at all, and can only be seen when tilting the label toward strong light.  The gramophone rims containing the all important 1st press matrix numbers  are also mint!!! As I said earlier - this is the best looking and best sounding example of this rare record I have ever owned!!! The incredible thick & heavy 1st press disc has absolutely No groove wear (a common problem with this record), NO scratches and NO warping!! I has a beautiful crisp shine to it, and none of the dullness of many other of the 1st presses of this seminal record. There are just one or two virtually invisible wispy paper lines and that's it!!! This record easily grades as Excellent, and is in NO WAY overgraded!!! As stated above it retains all of its factory press sheen, and looks absolutely stunning! The very thick & chunky quality pressed chunky 1960's vinyl looks and feels great, it is very heavy!!! 

The classic fully laminated E.J. Day Mono printed sleeve is also in stunning condition!!! With NO Tears, NO Scribbles and NO unwanted writing of any kind!!!  It is completely blemish free!!! The sleeve lies perfectly FLAT with virtually NO RING WEAR and a superb Nr Mint spine, with pristine Nr Mint legible spine text!!!  The thick laminate SUPERB. It has retained all its original clarity allowing the colours to come through as bold and vibrant and the day it was printed.  It has only the odd isolated laminate crease and slightest thin line of laminate lifting along the spine edge, which is very common with this sleeve.  The front and back of the laminate are superb!!!!! Nice and clean with NO grubbiness and NO unwanted marks!!!! The corners are SUPER SHARP and the spine is also in FANTASTIC  shape with perfectly legible title text. This cool sleeve grades as Excellent at the very least!!!! Comes complete with its original and correct 'Made in England' & 'British Patent' poly-lined windowed inner sleeve! This is in Excellent condition, with NO major creases, NO seam splits, Perfect sharp corners and poly inner lining still firmly attached!!! Please check out our feedback and bid with confidence as this is a no reserve auction with a very low starting price!  Do not underestimate the rarity of this LP, it is the only copy I have anywhere approaching this kind of condition and as usual it will go to the highest bidder! Like all our auctions, it has no reserve and a very low start, so once its gone its gone. Please do not email asking for identical copies, cos there ain't any!!! This is the EARLIEST and best copy of this rare UK Mono 1st pressing I have EVER seen!!!

We strictly adhere to it and will only offer refunds (minus the postage AND our eBay costs) if we are satisfied that we have fallen below UK record collector grading standards.
