Description
Welcome to the part sale of my own record collection. As many record collectors may already know I used to run a vinyl shop on here for many years and over that period put aside some gems for my own collection. It has come that time to break down some of it, so coming in the next month or so...Lots of rock, Pink Floyd, Who, Queen, Kinks Etc, many rare and fine collectables. I will try to add daily or every other day until they are gone,
This is an auction for a LP by The Who, My Generation.
Released on Brunswick records in 1965 and has catalogue number LAT8616. This is the 1st pressing with a laminated front sleeve, black and silver label. Matrix..MG 10256 2B..MG 10257 2B.
Condition: The sleeve comes in reasonable condition, it has some discolouring and a discreet pen mark on the rear, also with some creases and corner buffing, please check the pictures for further clarification, spine fine with all text legible, no tears, complete and certainly reasonable, graded at VG+.
This comes with its original 'patent' inner sleeve which has a small edge split and mild discolouring.
Both labels come in fine condition, judging by the amount of spindle trails seen this is certainly not well played, the centre-hole is close to perfect with just a little buffing seen to side one, being fussy. Again please check the pictures, fine labels.
The vinyl retains its shine and looks clean. Side one has a few very light scratches seen under close examination and plays through very well with just an occasional quiet surface noise heard, playing with little lessening in sound quality, this side is visually graded at Ex, with audio which is also graded at EX.
Side two has three visible marks, they look like drag marks and cannot be felt with a finger, under closer examination, like side one, a few feather scratches can also be seen. This side plays with a little more surface noise than side one but at no time does it distort or skip the music, infact the music plays well above all mentioned surface noise, a majority of both sides play completely clear but due to this occasional noise, some of which may be lifted with a good clean, I can only grade this at VG+.
Probably not for the purist but much better than a gap filler and a nice addition to one's collection.
