Description
Here is a copy of the much sought after first album by The Who. A twelve tracker and apart from three covers this record contained some of Pete's best work (The Good's Gone to me was an obvious single), I'd go as far as to say that this was one of the top five albums of the sixties if not higher. The vinyl I believe has not been overplayed but carries a couple of surface scratches, a couple of light scuffs and quite a few paper scratches from the inner sleeve. Having said that, with just a couple of light clicks here and there, the overall sound is great, the vinyl is still black and healthy and the black and silver Brunswick label is still crisp and unmarked. Visually I'd say the condition is VG and soundwise a rather mean VG+.
The sleeve has a small pin hole in each corner which implies that it's been on someones bedroom wall or the like and this has contributed to the nice condition it has remained in. These tiny holes are hardly noticeable on the front of sleeve and are really no problem on the reverse. Apart from the holes the front cover is EX with no creasing, marking etc. and I think you'd have a hard job finding a better one. The back has some slight discoloration and a small stain in the lettering (see pic.). The serial of this Mono album is LAT8616 and it was released in 1965. This is not a £150 copy but if you want to hear this super record in all it's original glory and want to own one of the sixties classics this is for you. I'm a fussy listener but I could listen to this all day long.!!!!!!
