I've been going thru my massive vinyl record collection this winter and pulling out some LPs that I thought that someone else would want for their collection. I've been collecting records for over 40 years and it's time to pass some of them on to the next generation of collectors.
This week on EBay I am offering up this fantastic, clean copy of this very cool, odd and rare Who greatest hits compilation from Uruguay, pressed in 1975.
This is a very nice clean pressing from Uruguay that I purchased at a Manhattan record show back in the late 70s. It looked cool and different at the time.
This is on the orange Polydor label, pressed in Uruguay in 1975.
This same "Pop Hits" series was released in several different Countries at the time.
It contains some of their earliest hits as well as some various hits throughout their career up until about 1972.
An interesting selection of hits, many of which were more popular outside of the US.
It has the classic hits such as My Generation, Magic Bus, Summertime Blues, I Can See For Miles, and some 'hits' from Tommy, but has a bunch of other cool, rare great odd songs.
It's a cool 2-LP set of WHO classics to add to your collection.
How many records from Uraguay do you have in your collection?? Probably not a lot.
This would be a very cool record to add to your collection. A nice bright orange jacket, all in Spanish, with Spanish song titles on the labels.
A relatively rare WHO record, at least here in the States.
~~~~~ The songs on this 2-LP Compilation include:
Mi Generacion (My Generation) 14:27 Ola De Calor (Heatwave) Rompe El Vidrio (Smash The Mirror) Dr. Jekyll Y Sr. Hyde (Dr. Jekyll And Mr. Hyde) Obertura De Tommy (Overture From Tommy) 7:30 Doctor Doctor! (Doctor! Doctor!) En La Ciudad (In The City) Mary Anne Y Su Mano Temblorosa (Mary Anne W/ Shaky Hand) Puedo Ver Por Millas (I Can See For Miles) Sally Simpson Omnibus Magico (Magic Bus) Ves Mi Camino (You See My Way) La Reina (The Acid Queen) No Lo Tomaremos (We're Not Gonna Take It) Blues De Verano (Summertime Blues) Bucket "T" Nuestro Amor Fue (Our Love Was) Navidad (Christmas) No Mires (Don't Look Away) Llamame Relampago (Call Me Lightning)
~~~~~~~~~~~~~ CONDITION: I tried to show good hi-resolution photos of the cover, labels and vinyl in my pictures.
VINYL: The vinyl looks terrific. Crisp and clean. No significant marks, dings or damage. I tried to show some close-up pictures of the vinyl. I'll call it VG+ to satisfy even the most discerning collector, but you can see from my pictures that it looks fantastic.
LABELS: this has cool, interesting Polydor orange 70s labels with spanish text and song titles in Spanish. Clearly stamped 'Uruguay' on the labels. Odd that he labels are all slightly different styles, but that's how it was issued. Labels are clean with no marks or damage. The spindle holes are relatively clean, some minor wear, but overall the records look fine.
JACKET: This comes in a gatefold jacket. The cardboard is thinner than typical US pressings of the time. This thinner stock was common on import covers back then. The condition of the Jacket is quite good. There looks to be a little bit of orange marker touch-up in a few spots or maybe just odd orange printing in places. There's a darker orange area in the upper left of the back cover and one corner looks like it was 'bumped' and then touched up. Not sure. It's exactly how I got it, used, at a record Fare in New York over 40 years ago. It's been sleeved and in poly-lined record sleeves since. Well taken care of over the years. NO names, marks, writing or signs of prior ownership.
Overall, a fantastic, nearly 50 year old, very cool WHO compilation. It's an interrsting, 'different' record and would look great in any classic rock collection. Something that none of your collector friends are going to have.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Add this fantastic album to your collection today. It would make a great addition to any Classical vinyl record collection.
~~~~~~~~~~~~ ** NOTE: I'm selling this rare 'Collector' record "AS IS" and "NO RETURN". It's rare and as described and I'm sure you'll be very happy with it.
~~~~~~~ I’m recently retired and downsizing and letting go some gems and rarities from nearly 45 years of vinyl record collecting. Check out the many other fantastic 45s and 33s coming soon to my page!
All records have been carefully evaluated and graded by me. I visually inspect all records under bright light, personally gently clean them with a soft cloth and then, if unsure, play them on a modern high-end turntable to get a true picture of condition. Please look at all the high-resolution pictures I added. They are all my own and are of the actual record being sold. The pictures are part of the description and can show small details, label variations, and condition better than I can put into words.
My grading is fair. I have had over 3,300 happy and satisfied EBay customers over the years, with 100% positive feedback, and I have been buying/selling on EBay for well over 20 years, so please bid with confidence!
I'm a 0ne-man operation, this is a hobby, not my job. I do this for fun. I do this because I love music, love collecting vinyl and want others to share in that same experience. I take my time listening, researching, grading, listing and packaging. I will NOT sell any record that I personally would not want in my collection.
As you well know, packing and shipping rare records requires special care and attention, therefore, shipping cost within the lower 48 states is $5.00 on this item. If you would like insurance, or anything faster than Media/Economy Mail, please let me know and I can arrange it for you. I’ll work with you to make sure you’re happy!
I will gladly combine multiple records, or other items on my page, and make the shipping much less for you. I don’t inflate the shipping costs; they are what they are. I strive to keep them as low as possible. See my feedback for comments on my quality packing and shipping.
All items are packaged with sturdy cardboard mailers and appropriate padding. I take pride in my packaging and shipping and package all my records as if I were sending them to myself. Payments can be made by any of the multiple options that Ebay offers.
