On offer here is one of THE WHO's rarest releases, this is the only copy I have came across in nearly 30 years of record collecting.
Originally released in 1967, this is the very rare 1st pressing of THE WHO's Legendary SELL OUT. COMPLETE with rare fold out poster and stickered sleeve, only 500 were ever released, and how many still survive I would not like to guess. This is a true WHO collectable, and is most probably their rarest release.
The Laminated sleeve printed by ERNEST J DAY & CO I would describe as Very Good, it is clean and free from any vandalism such as writings etc. The spine in clean and the lettering is readable, but is starting to split. The actual sleeve shows some light creasing but is nothing major, and the white sticker on the back is clean. The fold out Psychedelic poster printed by CHEVALIER, is also very clean and free from cellotape marks or pin holes or vandalism etc, But does unfortunately have a six inch split on one of the creases. Still it would look amazing framed.
Listening to the Vinyl, I would describe it as Excellent, Like most thick 1960's TRACK vinyl's, it plays through beautifully, free from clicks sticks or spits. Visually I would describe this as Good +, as it does have several surface scratches which as I have stated do not sound. The labels are also very clean.
Due to the rareness of this WHO classic, I have set the reserve at £200
As a collector myself, I know how frustrating and disappointing it is to receive a tatty item which bare little resemblance to the description given. I try hard to be as accurate as I can when grading, and use all sources available - including the 'Record Collector Grading System'. So it is safe to assume that I would never neglect to mention glaringly obvious vandalism such as writing on the label or sleeve - which, to my continual amazement and repeated disappointment, have been omitted from purchases I have made of late. Which is why I will continue to give bad feedback to all those I believe have deliberately given misleading information in order to sell shoddy stock. If you are not completely satisfied with your purchase, I will reimburse the full purchase price. However, to discourage unreasonable buyers who have simply changed their minds after receiving their purchase, the refund will not include the cost of postage and listing fees.
