Description
Here's one you almost never see! DAVID SEVILLE (pre-chipmunks!) doing his number one hit "The Witch Doctor" (you know- ooo, eee, ooo, ah, ah, ting, tang, wallawalla bing bang...). this album was released in 1958, a year before the first Chipmunks LP. The voice of the witchdoctor sure sounds like Alvin, though.
This is LRP 3092 on Liberty Records, recorded in TRANSISTORIZED-Spectro-Sonic-Sound, according to the cover. They must have considered it quite a technological breakthrough in it's time.
The cover is G+ to VG-shiny (sorry about the flash reflection on the photo; it's the best I could do) with little wear. I imagine it was once bright white, but it's browned (tanned?) a little now.There's about a 4 inch seam split on the top and a two inch split on the bottom of the spine that hasn't separated because the corner is tight.
The vinyl is VG+, almost near mint but for a couple of very light scuffs. I just played it and there is no surface noise. The label is excellent and there's lot's of gloss left on the record.
I'll ship the LP out of the sleeve to prevent the split from expanding, and pack it carefully in a RecordPak with bubble wrap.
