American composer, music theorist, and creator of musical instruments Harry Partch (1901-1974) put out numerous works over the span of his career, but The World of Harry Partch and Delusion of the Fury are two of his most notable works. Strictly acoustic, no synthesizers or electronics were used in these recordings. Partch composed using scales of unequal intervals in just intonation, and was one of the first 20th-century composers in the West to work systematically with microtonal scales. He built custom-made instruments in these tunings on which to play his compositions, and described his theory and practice in his book Genesis of a Music (1947).

Delusion of the Fury was originally released as a 3-LP set, one LP being The Instruments of Harry Partch and the other two - Delusion of the Fury. Later reissues were only two records and omitted The Instruments of Harry Partch. This box set also includes an 8-page booklet. All records have been completely play-tested for the vinyl grades above. The 3 grades on the box set vinyl relates to the individual records - Instruments of Harry Partch/Delusion of the Fury/Delusion of the Fury. EXCELLENT is a great grade; not perfect, but close, better than VG+.
