Description
THE YARDBIRDS - FIVE LIVE YARDBIRDS.
UK original 1st pressing LP on black/BLUE COLUMBIA label. 33SX 1677 (1964).
This live LP record album marked the recorded debut of a very young Eric Clapton and the first album by The Yardbirds. Eric is credited on the back as Eric 'SLOWHAND' Clapton. (This is before he was elevated to GOD-like status during his stint with John Mayall a full 1 or 2 years later). The band itself had three UK guitar gods over a short 3-4 years... Eric Clapton, Jeff Beck and Jimmy Page... before Page then rebranded and recruited the band to become that rock behemoth: Led Zeppelin!
Sleeve grades VERY GOOD to VG+ on the front. The back is more like GOOD or FAIR due to water/damp residue/staining and discolouration. An honest, well-played copy of a very influential album.
The vinyl and labels grade VG to VG+. The vinyl play grades more like VG, due to some intermittent crackle in quieter passages and surface marks. A copy in EX to Near Mint condition will cost between £200-£450. Here's an entry level copy for someone in the world to play.
