THE YARDBIRDS - HAPPENINGS TEN YEARS TIME AGO - COLUMBIA SINGLE - DB8024 - 1966. Condition is "Used". Dispatched with Royal Mail 1st Class "Signed For"
Using RCM Evaluation :- Recording is between Excellent (£28) to Very Good (£17.50) and Sleeve Grading Very Good
From the sellers private collection
This single was puchased by me in November 1966 and was released in October of the same year. The disc has some miniscule to zero marks (reflecting its 56 years longevity) that have no effect on playing or sound quality. There is no hole distortion and it is encased in a clear foil covering, housed in a 1960s period cardboard sleeve.
It was recorded through July /September 1966 at De Lane Lea Studios, London, and was produced by Simon Napier Bell.
The Yardbirds members at the time of its release were :- Keith Relf (Vocals), Jeff Beck (Lead Guitar), Jimmy Page (Lead Guitar), Chris Dreja (Bass) and Jim McCarty (Drums).
It has been described as a Psychedelic Rock/Pop and groundbreaking at its release and was considered on of the most avant garde rock reords of the time.
The record features special effects and Twin Lead Guitars of Jeff Beck and Jimmy Page and also features John Paul Jones on Bass. The song is listed at No 3 in Record Collectors chronolgical list of "100 Greatest Psychedelic Records"
The flip side song "Psycho Daisies" features the pre-Page line up, with Paul Samwell Smith on Bass and vocals by Jeff Beck.
Some observations on Grading Evaluation
Mint (M0 The record is in brand new condition, no surface marks, no sound quality deterioration. Records designated sealed or un-played qualify as mint.
Excellent (EX) The record shows some signs of being played, but with minimal lessening of sound quality. The cover and/or package may show slight wear and/or creasing.
Very Good (VG) The record has obviusly been playedmany times , but manifests no sound quality deterioration, despite noticeable surface marks or light scratching. Visible wear and tear on the coverand/or additional items, without major defects is acceptable.
