This listing contains one (1), very cool and truly vintage 1952 10" LP, Blue Note Records release by Thelonious Monk entitled "Genius of Modern Music".

The LP is in very good condition considering it is older than most everyone viewing this listing.  The record is clean and shining like a new dime.  It bears the usual and expected light scuffs & scratches, but it is a pleasure to listen to and to play.  It sounds like it should…real, vintage and still going strong.  The record edge is smooth to the touch.  The 10” vinyl is flat and sits just as it should on the turntable.  On side 1, a light scratch is seen in “I Mean You” that ventures into the runout strip.  Though visible, this scratch did not cause any troubles as I played the LP several times as I created this listing.  On side 2 and between songs 3 and 4, you will see a tiny dot impression.  This appears to be from the pressing.  It did not cause any skips, troubles while the record played.
For a vinyl LP that is nearly 70 years of age, it sounds remarkably clean and bright.  I was expecting (having not played it in years) for it to have MANY and annoying pops & surface noise sounds.  It is not perfect and is being sold as is, but it is very much playable and enjoyable, too.  It has been an absolute pleasure to listen to the LP as I compose this listing.   Please review all photos for a closer, more detailed view.

Blue Note 33 1/3 “microgroove” long playing 10” LP.

Both labels are clean and in good condition (no missing or obscured information) and both are securely affixed to the LP.  The label on side 1 has a few, minor dings (see photo), but it is safely in place.
“BN - LP - 5002 A" and “BN - LP - 5002 B” (and 9M & ear) are etched in the runout grooves on their respective sides of the LP.
The LP’s jacket is in good condition.  It is clean (no stains, missing or obscured photos or text), strong and colors are rich. The jacket is a heavy cardboard so it was built to last.  The spine is worn/has a tear (see photo) and no tape or other signs of repair are found on the spine.  All 4 corners are intact with appropriate wear.  “LP 5002” is written (not by me) on the top right corner of the jacket back.  All & all, the jacket bears expected age, storage, usage wear (see photos). 

Both LP labels and jacket display the Blue Note Records, 767 Lexington Avenue address.
This LP lacked a paper sleeve when I obtained it.  I never remembered to find another.
I have only gently wiped this LP with an anti-static, lint & scent-free, cotton cloth.  My LP cleaner was lost when we moved to Portland and I just never bought another.
I worked in and ran a record store for many years.  Vinyl is near and dear to my melodic heart, but it is time to let some of my collection find new & good, forever homes and that is where you enter the story.
