TITLE: THELONIOUS MONK SEPTET - MONK'S MUSIC
with Coleman Hawkins, Art Blakey, Gigi Gryce
LABEL: RIVERSIDE RLP 12-242 MONO Early Deep Groove, both sides pressing.
CONDITION:
SLEEVE: VG+ Clean with no splits or writing.
VINYL: VG/VG+ A few hairlines, some mild tics, but play grades great and is still a very fine listen.
DESCRIPTION: This is a historic jazz album, with some of Monk's best songs. On the first song you can hear him yell
"Coltrane" because sometimes these guys would nod off due to their "lifesyle", and Monk wanted him to come in. I will
post a clip of one of my favorite songs "Ruby My Dear" so you can hear how fabulous this sounds. The sax player is
Coleman Hawkins, just beautiful and tasty.
