Description

Artist:  THELONIOUS MONK

                                     

Title:   “The Unique”

 

Label:   RIVERSIDE.  Large blue label with silver text.  Monaural pressing on medium weight vinyl, with deep groove.  Catalog number is RLP 12-209. 

 

Jacket address on reverse at bottom is “235 West 46th Street, New York 36, N. Y.”

 

Date:  1956. 

 

Personnel:  Thelonious Monk – piano;  Oscar Pettiford – bass;  Art Blakey – drums. 

 

Condition: 

 

DISC:  Vinyl is NEAR MINT with 100% of original gloss, as clean as can be found.  Appears to have been played one or two times at most, and handled with care.  Labels are clean.  Fidelity is superb. 

 

JACKET:   Jacket is nice VG++.  Front artwork is clean and bright.  Seams are excellent except for a tiny nick on the top seam near the center.  Spine has a small piece of clear cellophane tape (2 in.) at the bottom left corner, otherwise excellent.  Reverse has darkened a bit with age, and there is a bit of minor creasing on the slick on the far right edge, otherwise clean and free of any writing, stickers, or other problems.  Overall a very presentable jacket to accompany the beautiful disc.
