THELONIOUS MONK: "GENIUS OF MODERN MUSIC, VOLUME 1" LP - On BLUE NOTE Records, #1510. Rare vintage jazz Lp! MONO pressing with the classic Blue & White labels and the NEW YORK USA address on both labels. The label is DEEP GROOVE on both sides. "EAR" and RVG etched in the trail-off on both sides. Thick vinyl, thick cardboard cover. The personnel: Idrresse Suliman or George Taitt/trumpet; Sahib Shihab or Danny Quebec West/alto sax; Billy Smith/tenor sax; Thelonious Monk/piano; Milt Jackson/vibes; Robert Paige, John Simmons or Gene Ramey/bass; Art Blakey or Shadow Wilson/drums. The vinyl is in EX+ condition (beautiful gloss)! The thick cover is in VG+ shape and displays nicely. There is evidence of contact wear along top left seam. Small bit of bottom right seam taped very discreetly. No cut-out marks, no writing, and the front cover graphics are particularly striking.
