Description

THELONIUS MONK Misterioso 1958 Riverside RLP 12-279, First Pressing. Fantastic original copy!

Matrix / Runout (Runout etching side A): RLP 12-279 A
Matrix / Runout (Runout etching side B): RLP 12-279 B

Cover is in EXCELLENT condition. Very little age wear with crisp corners and spine. Vinyl plays almost perfectly.

Play Grade notes: There are a series of pops at the beginning of Blues Five Spot for the first 10 seconds or so and some very minor surface noise during the bass solo. You can almost hear a pin drop during Roy Haynes’ drum solo on In Walked Bud. A little bit of minor surface noise near the beginning of Just A Gigolo. A few minor pops on Misterioso. Great live in person vibes on this recording. You can smell the cigarette smoke.

Recorded at the Five Spot Café, New York City, July 9, 1958 & August 7, 1958
