Phil Lynott (vocals, bass), Eric Bell (guitar), Brian Downey (drums).Additional personnel: Clodagh Simonds (harpsichord, Mellotron).A fascinating, all-over-the-map album by a band that hadn't yet found its own voice (although in retrospect hints of the band's ultimate direction can be heard here). Things get off to a roaring start with "The Rise and Dear Demise of the Funky Nomadic Tribes," which segues from Yes-derived staccato unison riffing into a funk-guitar workout influenced by Jimi Hendrix and James Brown. From there it's on to "Buffalo Gal," a melancholy folk-ish plaint that anticipates the working class Irish poetry Lizzy frontman Phil Lynott would develop to great effect later in the '70s; other stylistic detours include stabs at faux rockabilly ("I Don't Want to Forget How to Jive"), Mellotron-drenched confessional ballads (the title tune), and even a sort of visionary art-punk ("Call the Police). Pretty amazing ..... the best was yet to come.

Condition Of Vinyl:- Very light use only ........... No 'marks' , a couple of very faint traces on side one evident beneath a light (very faint!) No label wear , just a spindle trace on side two label only .............Outstanding sound quality throughout : EXCELLENT+ / MINT minus condition.

I usually start auctions at a low price to generate interest in bidding
All items are graded Audio / Visually , and played on a high grade system
Please feel able to bid with confidence , as a collector myself I understand the requirements in the gradings of discs and sleeves , and how important it is to recieve items in the condition as advertised
I grade items ( using the UK Record Collector Grading System) beneath a light , to be sure of condition
I do not believe it is necessary to use the eBay buzzwords such as STUNNING !! RARE !! AWESOME !! , padded out with grossly long winded 'descriptions' ..... Many of the 'experts' who use this method of selling also add technical information , which is totally unfounded and does not correspond with the actual facts , and would be laughable but for the fact it is totally misleading. I take time and care to graded items correctly , and only list quality records , with concise , accurate grading descriptions
I have been a lifelong music fan , my first concert visit was in 1957 (Birmingham Town Hall Skiffle Contest !) and have bought records of all the great music since 1959 , and had the privelege of seeing most of the great artists 'live' ( I saw The Beatles twice and Segovia !)
I began selling professionally in 1976 , and have a wide knowledge of the items I sell (and always learning !) having bought copies of my own at time of issue , always being interested in the sleeve , label and disc variations. If you have any queries , I will do my best to answer correctly
