Thin Lizzy — Johnny The Fox Original 1976 US First Pressing | Factory Sealed / New Old Stock Catalog: Mercury SRM-1-1119

The Ultimate Archive Copy For serious collectors of 70s hard rock, finding a clean, unplayed copy of Thin Lizzy’s masterpiece is a holy grail. Finding one still factory sealed in its original 1976 shrink wrap is nearly impossible. Released during the band's absolute peak era, Johnny the Fox features the legendary, razor-sharp twin-guitar attack of Scott Gorham and Brian Robertson alongside Phil Lynott’s brilliant, poetic songwriting.

This is a retail first pressing—not a promo club edition, and entirely free of saw cuts, drill holes, or corner cuts. It has spent the last half-century preserved perfectly, waiting for the right collection to call home.

Why This Copy Melts a Collector’s Butter:

• True US First Pressing: Released on the classic black/red Mercury label layout (1976).

• Factory Sealed: Unplayed, untouched, and preserved exactly as it left the pressing plant 50 years ago.

• Iconic Cover Art: Jim Fitzpatrick’s breathtaking Celtic-gothic illustration looks incredibly vibrant, glossy, and fresh beneath the clean shrink wrap.

• Track Highlights: Features "Don't Believe a Word," "Rocky," and the heavy-grooving funk-rock anthem "Johnny the Fox Meets Jimmy the Weed."

Jacket Condition & Detailed Grading We believe in absolute transparency so you can bid with 100% confidence. Here is a detailed physical breakdown of the jacket:

• Vinyl Grading: MINT (Factory Sealed)

• Jacket Grading: Near Mint Minus (NM-)

• Shrink Wrap: 100% fully intact. No tears, splits, or peeling. Tight, glossy, original vintage seal.

• Corners: Beautifully square, with only very light, natural softening on the corner tips due to the tight tension of the vintage shrink wrap over time. No heavy crushing or creasing.

• Edges & Spine: Perfectly flat, rigid, and solid. Absolutely zero seam splits. Spine text is completely preserved and perfectly readable.
