New Day Gatefold Sleeve
- Decca F13208 - approx. size: 7" sleeve - as per photographs - printed on card - gatefold sleeve only, no record SLEEVE CONDITION NEAR MINT - as found, pristine! PROVENANCE a recent find in Ted Carroll's old Cadillac Shack. Ted as many of you know was part of the management at this time. Here's the story behind it from Ted himself..."In June 1971, when we were planning the release of this record, we a sked Decca if we could have a gatefold picture sleeve. Decca refused!!! So, we went ahead and organised and paid for the sleeve ourselves. Rodney Mathews from Plastic Dog in Bristol took care of the artwork and our mate Tony Bradfield organised to have it printed in Dublin by the company he worked for, J.J. Lalor. Most of the sleeves were shipped to Decca, however, Decca released the record before the picture sleeves arrived and so the initial batch went out in period Decca company sleeves. A couple of copies have been recently unearthed, this copy is virtually mint, that has been stashed away safely for over 50 years."
