Description

This album is ultra rare. It's entitled 'Third World War 2' and is by the subversive early 70's punk psych band called Third World War. The LP was released in 1973 on the UK Track Records label (catalogue no. 2406108). The music has a very heavy psychedelic punk rock feel to it with pounding riffs and blistering guitar work from Terry Stamp. The themes of the songs are extremely political and reflect radical left wing views of the early 1970's in Britain. This album is so rare now and is difficult to find in top quality condition. This example is not perfect but it plays through really well and I think it's an early pressing.

OUTER SLEEVE - The sleeve which is very delicate shows a lot of wear on the front and back. The top and bottom edges show definite wear and there is some 'feathering' at the mouth of the sleeve. The spine is badly worn and there is a long tear along the spine which has been repaired from the inside. It states on the lower left hand side of the rear of the sleeve - 'Printed and made by Garrod & Lofthouse International Ltd.'. the lyrics to the songs on the album are printed on the rear sleeve. I've graded the sleeve VG--. There are no inserts, by the way.

INNER SLEEVE - This is a plain white diecut paper type with a clear plastic lining and one corner cut away.

RECORD - This is in pretty good condition considering that it has been played very well over the years. There are some definite surface marks on both sides which result in surface noise at times which is audible during quiet periods and between tracks. There are occasional pops and clicks but there are definitely no jumps or skips on either side. The textured labels which are the original Track Records type with silver wording are in fine condition. There are some definite spindle marks. This record has been well played. The matrix numbers on the run-off grooves are - side one - 2406108 A//1 1 1    2 (stamper PORKY) - side two - 2406108 B//1 1 1   2 (stamper PECKO). I have graded the record as VG and believe that this is very fair. This is an incrediby rare, underrated and influential record.

I try to grade all my items as accurately as possible and I will provide a full refund to any winner of my auctions who is not 100% satisfied. Please see my feedback for any references required.
