Description
This is a fine copy from a 1983 U.K. reissue of the debut LP by groundbreaking British industrial group Throbbing Gristle, originally released in 1977. The group came into being as an arm of the radical performance art group COUM Transmissions. They basically gave the genre of "industrial" music its name with their Industrial record label, and influenced countless subsequent groups through both their own music and that of the groups that members started or participated in after TG broke up (Psychic TV, Chris and Cosey, Coil, etc.). Less conventionally "musical" that the group's two studio LPs (D.o.A. and 20 Jazz Funk Greats), the group's debut features two suites mixing live and studio excerpts on side 1 and an extended piece on side 2 identified as the soundtrack to a film by COUM Transmissions, "After Cease to Exist" ("Cease to Exist," doubtless not coincidentally, is the name of a song by Charles Manson). The jacket has one main flaw, some sticker residue and light sticker damage on the front cover, along with light creasing along the spine and seams, and light ring wear -- overall EX(-). The disc is clean with a little hairline scraping, and plays with occasional light surface noise (EX+).
I am in the process of selling off a large personal collection amassed over two decades. All discs have been stored in plastic lined inner sleeves separate from their jackets. The jackets have been stored in plastic sleeves. I have play graded (spot checked) discs except where otherwise noted.
If you'd like to order multiple items, I'll happily combine them so that you won't have to pay multiple shipping charges.
