Description

Original unplayed, as new, mint 1979 issue of this super-rare UK femvox folk private pressing album, housed in a plain white promo cover.

Sleeve is autographed/dedicated by the album producer, Clive Gregson.  The Tickawinda album was issued in a total quantity of 300 copies in November 1979 - just as Clive Gregson's own band, Any Trouble, were attracting the interest of Stiff Records after the release (also on the Pennine label) of their self-financed debut single.  Stiff's A&R man/press officer Nigel Dick travelled to the band's native Manchester to see them play live, and Any Trouble were duly signed to Stiff.  During negotiations, Gregson gave Dick a copy of the Tickawinda album, presumably in an attempt to get Dick to sign Tickawinda as well as Any Trouble.  The inscription on the front of the plain white promo sleeve reads: "Tickawinda (produced by Clive Gregson).  To my pal Nigel... hope you like this.  Clive G."

Dick's level of interest in the Tickawinda album can probably be gauged from the fact that the album appears to be completely unplayed!
