Massively Rare Original 1970 U.S. PROMO 1st Pressing 'Starsailor' by Tim Buckley!!! - This is The Massively Rare U.S. Straight Records Promotional-Only White Label Pressing of this All Time Classic Psych/Acid Album!!! Previously Owned by One Frank Zappa!!! Complete With Original U.S. Thick Card Sleeve w/ Promotional Sticker and Original Straight Records Picture Inner Sleeve!!! This is the Holy-Grail of Any Buckley Collection - You will NOT Find a Rarer Tim Buckley Record That This!!!!

Where do I start!!! I think you all no how rare this record is!!! Starsailor is a classic record in it's own right but has become increasingly sought after since the brief but brilliant career of Tim's son, Jeff  Buckley increased interest in Tim's own work. However, what makes this record so special is that it is the Straight Records 1970 U.S. Promotional Only White label pressing which was only sent to radio stations and a handful of bods in the industry in the USA back in 1970 and was never available for retail!!! What's more, it comes complete with the original 'Promotional Only' stickered sleeve and original Straight Picture inner sleeve!!! A mega rare record and absolutely essential for any Tim/Jeff Buckley fan!! What's more (and this is the really exiting bit!) I have it under good authorisation that this was Frank Zappa's own personal copy of Starsailor (Straight Records was formed by Zappa), given to a good friend of mine who visited Zappa back in the 70's during one of his non-touring spells. This probably explains why it is the super rare promo-only copy as this is the advance pressing Zappa would have been given before the press run commenced - I wonder what he thought of it? This is a very serious LP in every respect and it is in stunning Nr Mint EX+++ condition throughout. This is one of only a handful of promotional copies of this seminal album that would ever have been produced, a handful at most exist today. Don't miss your chance with this one because once its gone its gone!

Starsailor was Tim Buckley's worst seller and is believed to have sold less than 10,000 copies in the United States. The abject commercial failure of this project caused Buckley to go into a 2-year self-imposed hiatus as a recording artist and even try his luck as a cab driver. Original copies of this magnificent psych/acid album are INORDINATELY hard to find, and the remaining copies are getting harder and harder to find with each passing day. For its extraordinary contribution to the modern music, superb production, craftsmanship, fine musicianship, revolutionary significance and influence it exerted on numerous generations of musicians, writers and general public, this album was voted one of top-100 albums of all time in one of the largest poll of critics, music reviewers, professionals and producers ever organised in the U.S.

The Classic white PROMO ONLY Electra Labels are in stunning condition with NO Scribbles and NO unwanted writing of any kind, they have NO traces of spindle wear, which leads me to think that this maybe an un-played copy. The labels are Mint as is the disc itself. I can see NO blemishes /marks at all on this record at all!!! This record easily grades as Near Mint - probably the best example of this very rare record left in existence today!

The classic U.S. sleeve, is also in stunning near-pristine condition. However, what makes this particular sleeve so rare is that it still has its original Warner Bros. (distributors of Straight Records at the time) Radio Station Promotional Copy sticker along the bottom of the front! The sticker has NO peeling and is still firmly attached (see image) I cannot stress how superb this sleeve looks and feels up close!!! It is virtually Mint and must easily grade as Excellent+++ with no unwanted writing/scribbles marks or blemishes anywhere!! The sleeve is nice and flat with no peeling of the slick and none of the edge wear so common with these U.S. sleeves! The original Straight Records inner sleeve is also nice with with no scribbles ceases etc although does have some seam splitting.

Please read - It has recently been pointed out to me that some eBay sellers have been using my images without permission. If you are thinking of lifting some images from my pages - please don't.
