Description
BOB EFFROS (1900 - 1982) was one of the busiest and most versatile trumpet players in New York. A professional from age 17, his trumpeting career lasted forty-five years, into the early '60s. He did excellent journeyman work with the cream of dance orchestras, including Sam Lanin, Vincent Lopez, Red Nichols, Benny Goodman, Paul Whiteman, and many more.
In the '30s, Bob also played in countless Betty Boop and Popeye cartoons for the Fleischer Brothers, and was a mainstay at that studio. He rubbed elbows at Plunkett's bar with Bix Beiderbecke, Jimmy McPartland and other jazzers. He even subbed for Bix now and then! As you can see, Bob had a fascinating career!

In the summer of 1929, he made this fine solo record "TIN-EAR" and "SWEET AND HOT." He's accompanied by two of the best "hot" pianists in New York, ARTHUR SCHUTT (on "Tin") and FRANK SIGNORELLI (on "Sweet").

These records come from my private collection, which I have been accumulating since 1967, and now am downsizing!
