So you thought Tiny Bradshaw was just another Big Band leader, eh?!? Well, you thought wrong.  Saying that Tiny Bradshaw was a big band leader is like saying that Iggy Pop is a pop crooner.

The jumpy, bouncy, jagged-edge, razor-sharp Rhythm and Blues played by Tiny Bradshaw orchestra truly never had any peers in Jump Blues genre. It is a no-holds-barred dance-floor assault that is as relentless, piercing, and utterly contagious. No wonder numerous tracks off of this album served as rockabilly templates for various white artists of the late 50s, and one of them – The Train Kept-a-Rolling was even covered by Johnny Burnette Rock’n’Roll Trio on their first and only album – probably the first Rock album ever to be released (and, oh, Yardbirds covered it too, but renamed it to “Stroll on”; Jeff Beck cut his finger playing this track in the movie “Blow Up” when his guitar string suddenly snapped).  Grab this piece and jump, baby, jump!

 (IMPORTANT NOTE: unless otherwise noted, ALL records are graded visually, and NOT play-graded!; we  grade records under the strong, diffuse room light or discrete sunlight)

(a)          WE GRADE THE VINYL AS EXCELLENT. This is one of those albums that are somewhat difficult to grade. It is somewhere between VG++ and NEAR MINT, just a notch below NEAR MINT. A few light abrasions ARE visible, but they are extremely shallow, superficial  and only moderately visually distracting (nothing significant).For the most part, the vinyl looks impeccable without any MAJOR visual flaws or imperfections. Much of the original luster is intact, and the vinyl shines and sparkles almost like new.

(b)          The record has a "deep groove" (an indent in the label about 1/2-inch from the edge of the label, which on SOME labels is associated with very early or first pressings).

(c)           The record is pressed on a beautiful, thick, inflexible vinyl, which was usually used for the first or very early pressings. Usually, the sound on such thick vinyl pressings is full-bodied, vivid, and even dramatic. Do not expect to obtain such a majestic analog sound from a digital recording!

(d)          This is the original FLAT-EDGE pressing

(e)           Stereo copies of this album are NOT known to exist.

(f)            Of course, this is a full-bodied ANALOG recording, and not an inferior, digital recording!!!

·       COVER

THE COVER IS NICE --- ABOUT EXCELLENT OR VERY GOOD++ (VG++).

The following flaws or imperfections are noted on the cover:

-        Cover has a partially split top seam (between 2 and 4 inches  / 5 to 10 centimeters)

-         Cover has a partially split bottom seam (less than 1 inch / 2.5 centimeters)

-         Cover has some light ring wear (nothing significant); On the scale from 1 to 10 (1 being the least, and  10 being the most severe), we assess the severity of ring wear as 2 (front side) and 3 (back side)

-         Cover shows some light yellowing on back side, apparently from aging.

-         Cover has some fraying/wear along the upper seam

-         Minor shelf wear noted on the bottom seam and spine (nothing significant)

-         Cover has one corner slightly worn / dinged / bent.

-         Cover has a minor tape residue (less than 1 square inch in size) (yellowish discoloration from the removed piece of old and aged scotch tape)

NO OTHER IMPERFECTIONS ON THE COVER:

-        No cut-out (drill) holes.

-        No cut-out corners

-        No saw-marks or indents

-        No dirt/dust rubbing stains (friction marks caused by rubbing against other covers)

-        No wrinkles or creases

-        No writing

-        No stamps

-        No peel-off marks

-        No mold or mildew spots

-        No stickers or labels

-        No water damage

-        No razor marks, scratches, pressure marks, lines, streaks, or  cuts.

-        No warping

-        No wax, glue, paint or liquid drops on the cover

-        No glue traces or wax residue.

-        No bar codes

-        No RIAA stamps or stickers.
