Great truckin’ songs of the renaissance

Rare Original OZ 2LP released in 1988 on Elvis Records. Cat: ER1206. Has one printed inner bag which is has some light age spots and is in Excellent condition.

Great Truckin' Songs of the Renaissance was the album that saw TISM gain notoriety, if not celebrity. Completely tasteless and musically mediocre, the album was nonetheless fresh, witty, and extremely funny. The album is more or less standard guitar rock, but it is the song lyrics that make this album great. While Ween writes songs that are happily crass, even they would hesitate to record a song called "Defecate on My Face," let alone release it as a single. But TISM shows no such restraint, which is why it is quite remarkable that both "40 Years - Then Death" and "Saturday Night Palsy" became minor hits from this album.Great Truckin' Songs is essential TISM as it encapsulates everything the band is about. The easily offended will hate this album (as they will every TISM release), but the irreverent, tongue-in-cheek attitude more than makes up for the deliberate (and frequent) lapses in taste.

Labels are nice and clean with no signs of spindle marks. Records are stunning and in Near Mint condition. Cover has a few light marks and is in Excellent condition.
