Description

Up for auction is a very rare original copy of the Tito Puente album "Tito Puente And His Orchestra Y Parece Bobo" with incredible vocals by legendary Chivirico Davila released on Alegre/Vene Vox Records (BL 156) in 1964.  Rare Venezuelan pressing.  Produced by Al Santiago.  Charlie Palmieri wrote the liner notes.  See photo for song list.  Original mono, deep groove record.  A must-have for any serious Salsa collector.  Tito Puente's first record release on the Alegre label.  Beautiful cover art by Izzy Sanabria.  This is a really nice copy in great condition. 
The cover is still bright with the lamination intact.  Does show some moderate age spotting upon close inspection, but it doesn't detract from the overall beauty of the cover.  Back cover looks great too, no writing, chips, or ring wear.  Only some minor age spotting.  Otherwise, bone-white and clean (see photo).  Corners look sharp, though one is slightly bumped.  Seams are strong with no splitting.  I'd grade this cover as EX (Excellent) condition. 
The vinyl is in beautiful condition.  No scratches or scuffs.  Retains its original sheen and glossy luster.  Labels are clean with no marks around spindle holes, suggesting very little previous use.  I have play tested the record and it sounds great, very clean.  The original mono sound it full-bodied and beautiful.  Very little background noise--the quiet passages are quiet.  The highs are bright and undistorted.  This record probably hasn't been played more than a couple of times.  Very nice.  Call it Near Mint- (NM-).  Overall, a very well-preserved copy of this must-have Salsa classic.
