This is one of the albums Tito Puente recorded in the mid-60's at the peak of his career for the legendary Latin "Tico" label, and a very tough album to find, particularly as mono pressing in the condition as beautiful as this. On this one, the influence of Psychedelic movement is more than apparent: from the cover artwork (see the picture) to the arrangements, ornamentation, colorature, choice of instruments, chromaticism…this is one incense, pills-and-grass Latin album. This is not music, this is a proverbial Niagara Falls of cascading rhythms, patterns, percussive jingles and just flat-out dancing joy. And what an album it is: if you are sad, this music will cheer you up, if you are sick, you will get well, and if you are dead, well, sorry, there's no cure for that (yet) , but you might still feel a little better after hearing this. Tito covers here a varied, and very eclectic, mix of mambo and salsa traditionals and originals . Just seeing the cover of the album showing Tito somewhere in trippy sha-la-land is worth a thousand words. (b)          The record is pressed on a beautiful, thick, inflexible vinyl, which was usually used for the first or very early pressings. Usually, the sound on such thick vinyl pressings is full-bodied, vivid, and even dramatic. Do not expect to obtain such a majestic analog sound from a digital recording!

(c)           Of course, this is a full-bodied ANALOG recording, and not an inferior, digital recording!!!

THE COVER IS (WEAK) NEAR MINT, STILL IN ITS ORIGINAL ►SHRINK WRAP

The following flaws or imperfections are noted on the cover:

-         A few small moldy stains noted in two top corners on the back panel (affecting total area of about 3 square inches)

-         Cover shows JUST A HINT of yellowing on back side, apparently from aging.

-         Cover has a light "wrinkle" (crease)  in one of the corners.

-         No cut-out (drill) holes.

-         No cut-out corners

-         No saw-marks or indents
