Im Gegensatz zu der momentan in zahlreichen Online-Portalen angepriesenen Compact Disc des Labels Rock Candy („Made in Europe“) ist die hier angebotene, 2008 erschienene, auf 1000 Exemplare limitierte amerikanische CD-Veröffentlichung nicht nur das erste digitale Reissue, sondern auch die einzige (von Brad Sinsel autorisierte) Edition von „In Your Face“, welche die tatsächlich mitwirkenden Musiker (unter anderem den damals noch blutjungen Adam „Bomb“ Brenner) mit einem Foto auf der Rückseite der CD (oben abgebildet) vorstellt. Auch die ursprüngliche Vinyl-Version (1984, drei Jahre nach den Aufnahmen veröffentlicht) zeigte ja das Bild einer „falschen“ Gruppe von Musikern auf der Cover-Rückseite zusammen mit der Angabe „TKO is [!] Brad Sinsel (Vocals), Kjartan Kristoffersen (Guitar), Scott Earl (Bass), Ken Mary (Drums)“ und gab die Namen der tatsächlich an der Einspielung Mitwirkenden nur im Rahmen eines kleingedruckten Hinweises auf der Rückseite an: „Special thanks to Adam Brenner, Rick Pierce, Evan Sheely and Gary Thompson.“) Woran das liegt, versucht Martin Popoff in einem im Begleitheft enthaltenen Essay zu zeigen, von dem hier ein Ausschnitt zitiert wird:

»A remarkable album with an odd, somewhat aggravating history, In Your Face above all, should have made Brad Sinsel a star. But who else? Well, that’s up for debate, because Sinsel’s three bandmates on the back of the 1984-issued album were a different three bandmates from the hot clockin’ consortium that made the record back in the summer of 1981.
As background, TKO’s semi-major label deal fell apart when Infinity Records went broke after issuing one promising album for the band, Let It Roll, in 1979. As Sinsel explains, this caused the departure of his entire band from the ranks. “What happened was, we wrote the material for In Your Face starting in 1980. And most of the guys leaving … It’s a big strain on a band after losing a huge record deal, and 20,000 people a night, to go back to Larry’s Bar & Grill – it will rip a band up. So with the new lineup, we had written it in ’80, recorded it in the summer of ’81, and then again we come back, and we play around, we’re looking for a deal, and word comes back, ‘Oh, it’s too heavy’ (laughs). We’re like ‘Come on!’ And we did a showcase and lost out to Ratt, on an Atlantic deal, and just couldn’t get arrested. And it was just deemed too hardcore. Well, soon after, the metal thing really started picking up. And now we were too light! (laughs). When it was written, it was heavy enough, but things just got a little more hardcore after that, and the lineup changes, again, when a band can’t get arrested, it’s a big strain, and suddenly people who were wonderful and beautiful are kind of getting on your nerves. Anyway, Rick Pierce, of course, stayed with the band through I think about 1980, and then he went on to do some other stuff. And then he came back briefly for a few months, and appears on ‘Give Into The Night,’ in a solo trade-off with Adam.”
To sum up, In Your Face was actually recorded with Adam “Bomb” Brenner on guitar, Evan Sheely on bass, and Gary Thompson on drums, but when the album came out – way up into 1984 – there was Sinsel, along with a band consisting of Kjartan Kristoffersen on guitar, Scott Earl on bass and Ken Mary on drums.
That mystery is cleared up with the reissue you now hold in hand, but what isn’t clear is how In Your Face could have been so forcefully heavy, so professional and expensive sounding, and just so damn platinum smashy, to the point where even when it was released three years after the recording thereof, it could easily compete with the best of them. …«

Das Cover der Schallplatte ist VG (mit Abnützungserscheinungen an den Rändern und einem Cut-Out-Hole unten rechts); die originale Innenhülle mit sämtlichen Texten und einem pompösen Porträt von Brad Sinsel ist vorhanden. Der Zustand des Vinyls ist NM. Alle Fotos zeigen die konkreten Artikel, die der Meistbietende in dieser Auktion geliefert bekommt.
