Description
Released by Tamla Motown in 1966, cat # TMG 559; this is “Road Runner” / “Shoot Your Shot” by Jr Walker & The All Stars.
This is a classic red/white demo with the release date in the centre of each label. There is a bit of wear/discolouration to the A-side label and a ring-mark on the B-side label. Both playing surfaces are very worn indeed, especially the A-side. It looks ugly and grades as good/fair.
After a careful clean, playing was a real surprise! There is a single pop near the start, but other than that, the record plays at least very good. The record comes in a presentable orange Tamla sleeve.
All of these Motown singles come from the same source – an original 60’s Top Rank DJ who started in the ballrooms and progressed to radio and record production in the 1970’s. The vast majority of the collection is mint or unplayed, but he clearly loved his Motown as most of the 60’s and early 70’s singles are generally in very good condition, but with a few notable exceptions!
