Description

Up for auction is a copy of Runt, the debut LP by Todd Rundgren (though Runt was actually the band name), released in 1970 on Ampex, cat no A 10105. This copy is the rare mispress edition, featuring many alternate mixes, some alternate takes & one completely unreleased song. Details for the uninitiated here:

SIDE ONE:
1. BROKE DOWN AND BUSTED (same as standard version but with short intro from THERE ARE NO WORDS)
2. BELIEVE IN ME (alternate mix)
3. WE GOTTA GET YOU A WOMAN (alternate mix)
4. ONCE BURNED (same as standard version)
5. WHO'S THAT MAN (same as standard version)
6. HOPE I'M AROUND (not on standard version, but a different recording of the title was included on Rundgren's second solo LP)
7. DEVIL'S BITE (alternate mix with extended guitar solo)

SIDE TWO:
1. I'M IN THE CLIQUE (same as standard version)
2. THERE ARE NO WORDS (same as standard version)
3. BABY LET'S SWING (full length song, not part of a medley)
4. SAY NO MORE (not on standard version)
5. BIRTHDAY CAROL (partially the same as standard, but with some slight alterations)

Only 5000 copies feature this line-up in error, a long-time Rundgren collectible.
Condition: a few minor surface marks on each side, but nothing serious, and certainly nothing to adversely affect play. Still sounds great. The cover and inner seem to be from a reissue, but this was how it reached me. There’s a 2” split on the lower seam of the cover, and a 3” split on the lower seam of the inner, but otherwise there’s only minor wear present. VG+ all round, I think.
My grades: I use a 10-point scale: M-; EX; VG+; VG; VG-; G+; G; G-; F (fair); P (poor). I never use mint as a grade for used records. I am a long-time (25+ years!) record collector, and play-grade where possible. I don’t use stock photos: the item pictured here is the item for sale.
