Here it is!! This has to be THE ultimate Waits rarity!! This is the original acetate for the album "Blue Valentine"!

I have NEVER EVER seen another Waits acetate in 23 years of collecting so I believe this to be the only chance to get your hands on this little beauty.

The album is housed in a plain white cover with an info sheet stuck to it with cellotape. The cover has a little writing on the back in pencil, as far as I can see it is a note concerning an appointment. It can easily be removed, but I haven´t done it as I do not know who wrote it (waits? or the producer?). The cover has a seam split at the top. The info sheet has a tear (see pic) but besides that it is in good condition.

But the important thing here is the record! : It is a metalbased acetate ( you can see the metal in the spindlehole) with light-pink labels (see pic).

The record is in vg condition, it has general wear from being taken in/out of the sleeve (I really don´t think this has ever looked mint!), but still has lots of shine.

The needle on my Rega 3 jumped during track 1 on both sides (and track 1 only), and I belive this has something to do with the pressing of the record, as the rest of the record plays fine. There is a little noise during play but nothing too seriously. But you won´t be playing this record anyway, as playing it will eventually destroy the record (acetates are not made to be played more than a few times - to check the recording).

I have only played this record once, and only parts of each track, and as far as I can hear it is the ordinary versions.

The running order of the record is different to the released version!! (I hope you can read the info sheet in the pic.)

I hope I have described the record as good as I can but feel free to ask questions.

This could very well be the only copy that has survived, as acetates usually are made in quantities of 1-10 only.
