Description
Up for auction is a rare original copy of the Tom Waits album "Closing Time" originally released in the U.S. on Asylum Records (SD 5061) in 1973.
-Guaranteed original pressing
-Original white Asylum labels -Artisan mastering mark in deadwax
-Original inner sleeve w/ lyrics
-No UPC/bar code on cover
Note: Most copies of this album sold as "original" on eBay are not original. Original pressings had the white Asylum labels, which were very quickly replaced by the far more common "blue clouds" labels.
Also, this copy has the rare Artisan mastering marks in both deadwax run-outs. These pressings are considered by collectors to often have superior sound quality.
Condition:
Cover is nice, no significant signs of wear or age. Front looks clean, light rubbing bottom middle. Seams are nice, no splits, but show some light rubbing here and there along the edges.. Corners are sharp, with light rub. Nicely preserved cover.
Grade: Excellent (EX)
Vinyl is nice, still has much of its original shine. Both sides have a few very light superficial hairlines and shadow marks, nothing deep or serious--nothing that would affect the quality of playback. Labels are clean, no marks around spindle holes, indicating little previous play. Looks like it's been played a few times, but handled with care.
Grade: Excellent Minus (EX-)
Combined Shipping:
Yes, I offer significant combined shipping discounts. Just ask!
International Shipping:
Because of unreliable postal services, buyers in France and Italy must pay for Expedited international shipping, which includes tracking and insurance. I've had too many records lost or damaged shipping to these countries. Also, I do not ship to Central or South America, or China.
