TOM WAITS Early 1973 Original Set Of 2 CLOSING TIME Unreleased Demo 10" Acetates

 

 

 

Tom Waits - "Hope That I Don't Fall In Love With You" and "Little Trip To Heaven (And It's Yours)"

 Early 1970s (pre-1973) set of two original one-sided 10" metal acetates of songs which later appeared on Waits' first album Closing Time. 

The first acetate, is a demo version of "Little Trip To Heaven (And It's Yours)". Waits' vocal is accompanied by a piano only. Publishing info handwritten on label. 

The second acetate is a demo version of "Hope That I Don't Fall In Love With You". Waits' vocal is accompanied by an acoustic guitar only. Publishing info handwritten on label.

Each disc plays at 45rpm in mono and has a DCT Recorders label. The recordings here are more stripped back than the officially released versions on Closing Time, leading us to believe they were used for demo purposes before the songs were fully arranged. Both acetates play with no skips, but with some background noise.

These acetates are 100% genuine, unlike many other acetates sold at auction.

We grade conservatively, accurately and honestly. S/S, M, M- (NM), VG++, VG+, VG, VG-, G, WBR (Poor). We do not use EX (many dealers' EX would be our VG).
