Description

Up for auction is a super rare copy of the Tom Waits album "Foreign Affairs" originally released on Asylum Records (7E-1117) in 1977.  This is a guaranteed original first U.S. pressing, not a cheap reissue or import like most for sale on eBay.  This copy is a special white label promotional copy still in original opened factory shrink wrap.  Very rare as such.

Has original factory inner sleeve with lyrics and liner notes, which is in very nice condition.  Still in opened factory original shrink wrap.  No UPC/bar code on back cover.  Cover has no unattractive or distracting "Promo" stamps or stickers, rare in this state.  Vinyl will come in audiophile protective inner sleeve along with original paper inner sleeve.

Has correct original pressing date code markings in the matrix run-out (originally released 9/1977): 7E1117  A-1  ReCSM  9-7-77 7E1117  B-2  ReCSM  9-7-77

Cover is in beautiful condition, still protected by original shrink wrap.  Cover looks "as new" except for some minor rubbing of bottom edge near opening on right side and a tiny bit of rub along opening in the middle.  Factory cut-out on bottom edge near opening.  Very well-preserved cover.  Grade the cover Near Mint Minus (NM-).
Vinyl is in very clean condition, retains its original glossy shine.  No obvious scratches, no scuffs, no needle marks.  Labels are clean.  Tiny faint hairline in run-out groove, probably from taking the record out of paper inner sleeve--does not affect playback quality whatsoever.  This copy has probably been played only a couple times, very well-preserved.  Grade the vinyl Near Mint (NM).
