Description
Up for auction is a very nice copy of the Tom Waits live album Nighthawks At The Diner, originally released in the U.S. on Asylum Records (7E-2008) in 1975:
-Guaranteed early pressing from 1970s, not recent reissue -Original Asylum "blue clouds" labels -Gatefold cover with lyrics inside
-No UPC/bar code on cover
Note: In my humble opinion as a collector for over 40 years, Nighthawks At The Diner is one of the greatest live recordings of the rock n' roll era. Amazing sound quality and performance. Many of Tom Waits fans rightly believe this is his best record, and I agree.
Condition: Cover is in beautiful condition, no significant signs of age or wear, no seam splits, just some faint ring rub on top back that's not very noticeable (see photo), and a couple small spots of rub on top and bottom of spine corners (see photos). Interior is clean. Very nicely preserved! Grade: Excellent (EX)
Vinyl is also very nice, still has its original glossy shine. No apparent scratches or scuffs, just some faint, superficial signs of having been taken out of inner sleeve a couple times. One tiny superficial pressing mark on Side Four that's hardly worth mentioning. Labels are clean, unmarked. Looks like it's maybe been played only once, but handled with care. Very clean! Grade: Near Mint Minus (NM-)
How I Pack Your Records:
I remove the records with inner sleeves from the covers prior to packing. I sandwich the record between two pieces of cardboard for padding and protection. I also reinforce the corners of the shipping box to protect the corners of the record jacket from damage.
