WOW!! For sale is a rare white label promo copy of Tom Waits’s brilliant 1975 album Nighthawks at the Diner in STUNNING condition!! These white label promo copies are the earliest of first pressings pressed from the first generation lacquers and stampers. I have personally play tested this and it sounds absolutely phenomenal with no background noise and when I closed my eyes, it sounded as though I was in that “diner” with Tom in front of me on piano. Truly magnificent.

Sleeve: NM-

BEAUTIFUL CRISP gatefold sleeve has only very light signs of wear...sharp corners...fully legible spine...promo punch hole...being critical, there’s a small slight 1” ‘wrinkle” on opening edges. Overall, a fantastic sleeve.

Disc(s): NM-

GORGEOUS discs retain all their original glossy sheen...visibly, there are light, superficial wispy sleeve removal traces and “streaks” visible when tilted under bright light only. They disappear when tilted and they absolutely do not affect sound. I HAVE play tested this one mainly just because I love this album and even after a simple light bath in my Spin Clean, it played extremely quietly with no background noise and very clear brilliant audio. There is no evidence of play on the labels and this was very likely never played, or a handful of times at most including my play test. STUNNING NM- AUDIO PLAY GRADE.

PERFECT white promotional labels have no writing or marks...no evidence of play.

Original generic white inner sleeves are included and unsplit. Promo punch hole in the corner of both.

This copy is from the collection of Bob Senn - a renowned Santa Barbara, California DJ and program director for KTMS FM “The Rock on the Coast”. When Mr. Senn passed, his collection was acquired by my friend who has commissioned me to help sell them. There are thousands of records in the collection, almost all promotional copies in mint or close to mint condition.

The disc will be put into a generic inner sleeve and placed behind the jacket in a plastic outer sleeve and protected by thick cardboard on both sides. $4 via USPS Media Mail or $15 via USPS Priority Mail Package within the USA. (If Priority Shipping total comes to $10 or less, a $3 refund will be given- the extra cost is to cover shipping materials- mailers, stiffeners, extra inner and outer sleeves)

Grading System:

SS (Still Sealed)

Unopened records, still in original shrink wrap. In original manufactured condition unless otherwise noted (i.e. evidence of mildew or bent corners, etc.)

M (Mint)

The record and sleeve are in perfect, original condition. The record may have been played but will have no evidence of deterioration. (I will only use this grade on SEALED records that appear to be Mint as I believe any non-new, opened record cannot be truly called MINT.

NM (Near Mint)

A nearly perfect record. Any visible defects are of the type that "disappear" when the record is tilted under a strong light and they should not affect play. Sleeves in near mint condition will have no obvious signs of wear. Practically imperceptible ring wear may be allowed but no creases, seam-splits, or other easily detected flaws will be present.

EX (Excellent)

A very clean record. Near mint except for slight, superficial signs of wear. Sleeves in this condition may have marginal defects, but will not have significant creases or splits.

VG+ (Very Good Plus)

A well-cared-for record that is noticeably less than perfect, but defects are not visually or audibly distracting. Record surfaces may have slight scuffs or light scratches, but are still primarily clean. Sleeves may have some creases or minor ring wear, but should not be split.

VG (Very Good)

A used, reasonable copy to play. Many of the defects found in a VG+ copy will be more pronounced in VG condition. Surface noise may be evident and sleeves may look worn, but the record is still a decent copy.

G (Good)

A well-worn record that is still playable. Good does not necessarily mean "bad" but a record in this condition will have audible distractions and may have visible groove wear. Sleeves may have all manner of defects, but are still intact.

FA (Fair) and P (Poor)

These grades are for beat-up records. I will only sell records in these grades if they are extremely rare and sought-after.
