Description

 Up for auction is a very nice copy of the rare Tom Waits album "Swordfishtrombones" originally released on Island Records (90095-1) in 1983.  This copy is a guaranteed U.S. pressing from the early 80s, not a reissue or import, like most for sale on eBay.  Includes the original inner sleeve with lyrics and liner notes (see photo).

Along with catalog numbers, Matrix reads: "For Kathleen and Kelle Simone".  Kathleen is Tom Waits' wife.  This etching is found only on early pressings.

Cover is in very nice condition.  Front looks clean with few signs of wear.  Very small amount of rub at top center, and some rubbing at corners.  Back is clean with minor rubbing and rubbing to corners.  Small crease near spine.  Seams are strong, no splits.  Corners are good, though slightly rubbed.  Grade the cover Excellent/Excellent Plus (EX/EX+).  Nice example.

The vinyl is in beautiful condition, looks shiny and clean.  No obvious scratches, scuffs, or extraneous marks.  Very few signs of previous handling or play.  Labels are clean, no marks around spindle holes, indicating little previous play.  I doubt if this copy has been played more than a couple times.  From my personal collection, it's been archived for the last 30 years.  Grade the vinyl Near Mint (NM).
