TOMMY McCOOK sir don / DOBBY DOBSON i am a loving pauper
Here you have a rarely seen gem, the majestic skinhead rocksteady thriller "Sir Don" by Tommy McCook and the vocal side is an amazing soulful rocksteady by Dobby Dobson called "I am a loving pauper"
I have recorded "Sir Don" without the slow short intro so you don´t dismiss it but further down you can here the full track also if needed.
As always with rocksteady / ska records grading is important - i don´t remember how many times I have bought a copy in EX or EX+ condition only to get an ice skating rink with deep fried bacon effects all over the tunes. Therefor I need to point out I use my regular grades also for rocksteady and ska singles.
This record is very shiny but have a few light scuffs and hairlines but most of the disc is shiny black. It play with light background crackle but I believe this is from the pressing rather than the marks - so I guess a mint cooy would play the same.
I have tried to photo the scuffs so you can judge yourself, for being a rocksteady single this is in rather great condition compared to most copies.
I really can´t find any info on this single only that it´s sought after and featured on the JUNGLE SYMPATHY Birth of Trojan compilation as a replicas of this single BUT THIS IS THE ORIGINAL!
This is one of the earliest Trojan releases, only number 11!

GRADES:
Grades are sleeve/record. Only one grade means there is no picture sleeve. If there is a picture sleeve missing to this issue I will note it in the description.
My scale of grades goes from M- / EX / VG++ / VG+ / VG to VG-
I may or may not add any details to the description if needed. Do always check the picture before bidding. If you are uncertain o how a particular record play or looks, please email me and I try to email you with a detailed description! Sometimes a record looks like a VG but play like a EX then i usually grade it VG+ and if the visual and the playback differ much I will try to describe that.
Note that all soundfiles are from the records I am selling - allthough in a low bitrate MP3 format so they will sound better in real life. Records playgraded and recorded on a Technics 1200 with ortofon needle - I can´t tell how it plays on any other record player.
