Album Notes


First and foremost Edgar Nevárez graduated from Berklee College of Music in Boston, Mass. and thereafter became the first Puerto Rican to become a faculty member of the Berklee College of Music and a Music Professor who taught what else, Salsa Music.

His next move was putting together a Salsa Orchestra called La Tropica which included fellow Berklee alumni Tommy Villariny and several other friends. They became the most popular salsa orchestra in Boston.


Edgar Nevárez , nacido en Santurce, Puerto Rico, conformó entre 1978 y 1984 junto a Tommy Villariny la Orquesta La Trópica con la cual alcanzaron tres producciones discográficas, (una para el sello TH y dos para Combo Records). Fue allí donde se destacó como compositor, músico, productor y arreglista
