Tongue and Groove were a popular act in the San Francisco area, formed by Mike Ferguson after he left The Charlatans.Produced by Abe "Voco" Kesh (Savage Resurrection, Lynn County, Morning Glory) and Milan Melvin (Blue Cheer), the first album
is an excellent west-coast blues/rock album. Graced by the vocals of Lynne Hughes, the former Red Dog Saloon barmaid who worked
with The Charlatans on their unreleased Kama Sutra album, the band revisit several songs from The Charlatans repertoire including:
Devil, The Shadow Knows, Sidetrack and a Dan Hicks song Fallin' Apart. Another Charlatan, Richard Olsen plays bass on the record.
The other songs are electrified versions of traditional blues by Mance Lipscomb or Brownie McGhee.
The gatefold sleeve was designed by Ferguson and is a superb psychedelic drawing...(Fuzz Acid & Flowers)
