Description
TONTON MACOUTE - self titled
A very nice condition and increasingly rare UK 1st press copy of this prog gem with just a few minor blemishes only
Year/Label : 1971 UK RCA NEON Label number : NE 4 Matrix numbers : AGBS 0510 - 1E, AGBS 0520 - 2E Stampers : AM / A1FVery good plus (VG+) condition vinyl - completely flat and weighty with just a few faint small hairlines and equally faint paper scuffs, and on side 2 a few slightly more noticeable (with close inspection under a bright light) scuff lines - all non-feelable and appearing to be surface only though there is some very mild and limited clicking on A1, B1 and B3 (about 30 seconds of very light rotational clicking on each, barely impinging upon the overall excellent audio quality). Excellent condition labels with a few barely discernible very faint and small spindle trails on each and just the hint of some very light handling marks - each very trivial. Non-laminated very good plus (VG+) - bordering on "excellent" - condition original E.J. Day outer gatefold sleeve with all edges remaining firm with a few intermittent small scuff marks and "nicks" on both the top and bottom edges and again on the spine beside the top and bottom corners. The spine itself remains rigid with all spine text remaining perfectly intact, as are the vibrant colours, exterior and interior photos, and all text. There is just the hint of some very minor fraying on the front right side vertical edge...nothing really. Hard to believe that this gatefold is now 55 years of age! Overall excellent (EX) stereo audio quality with no skips, jumps, repeats, sticks, or distortion and background crackle is virtually non-existent. As already mentioned there is some very mild and limited clicking on A1, B1 and B3 (about 30 seconds of very light rotational clicking on each) but these blemishes are trivial and every single track on this LP makes for excellent listening. Comes with original poly-lined black inner sleeve with no seam splits though there is some mild creasing, and remains fully functional. I will ship the record in a new plain white poly-lined inner sleeve in order to protect the original. A very nice condition copy of this UK 1st press prog rock gem - a welcome addition to any serious rock vinyl collection!
POSTAGE COSTS :
For the UK £4 using Royal Mail tracked 48;
for continental Europe £11 using Royal Mail 1st class tracked and signed for,
and for the rest of the world £18 using Royal Mail 1st class tracked and signed for.

Note that I always insert the vinyl into a new plain white poly-lined inner sleeve in order to protect the original during postage, and separate this from the outer sleeve to prevent seam splits. I use thick cardboard stiffeners and take great care in my packaging to ensure as far as possible that these precious records reach their destination in exactly the same condition as when they leave me.

A bit about myself : I have been collecting UK vinyl for over 54 years from a variety of sources : my own collection, friends and family, car boot and garage sales, door-to-door leaflets, and even through placing an advert in my wife's shop window! My ebay feedback speaks for itself so rest assured that you are buying from a trusted seller and in the very unlikely event that you are unhappy with your purchase just e-mail me and I will sort out the problem. I offer a "no questions asked" refund policy. If you require any further information, including photos, then let me know and I'll do my best to oblige. There is NO RESERVE on this item. Richard
