Condizioni : la copertina presenta un modestissimo mini raggrinzimento sull'angolo superiore sinistro ed una leggerissima ammaccatura sul bordo laterale sinistro. Sul retro poche macchioline brune; grande stato, EX+ / il vinile ha pochi segni minori che non condizionano affatto il perfetto ascolto; grande stato, NEAR MINT

Condition : cover shows a very modest mini creasing on the upper left corner and a slight bump in the left lateral edge. On the back a few brown specks, EX+ / vinyl has a few minor scuffs which do not affect at all the perfect listening, NEAR MINT

GRADAZIONE RIGOROSA - STRICTLY GRADED

Copertine e vinili sono visualmente gradati dopo un’attenta osservazione sotto la luce del sole fatta sulla mia terrazza a tetto. Nelle giornate grigie il controllo viene effettuato sotto una forte lampada alogena con l’aiuto di una lente d’ingrandimento. Tutti i dischi in asta sono stati interamente ascoltati, i 33 giri su un giradischi Rega Planar 3 fornito di una testina a magnete mobile Grado Statement 1 mentre gli EP e i singoli a 45 giri con un Thorens TD 166 BC fornito di una testina, sempre MM, Goldring 1006. Ritenendo che le abituali classificazioni quali Mint, Ex, Vg, ecc., ecc… siano poco significative per spiegare le reali condizioni dei dischi ed anche estremamente soggettive, precedo sempre tali classificazioni con una breve descrizione degli eventuali difetti che ho riscontrato, ad eccezione di Mint- che il più alto grado che conferisco a qualsiasi disco. Soltanto per le copie ancora sigillate all’origine utilizzo MINT/MINT.

Sleeves and vinyls are visually graded after a careful check in bright sunshine on my roof terrace. In the gray days I watch the records under a strong halogen lamp with the help of a magnifying glass. All records in auction have been fully heard. Lps on a Rega Planar 3 turntable with a Grado Statement 1 moving magnet cartridge, EPs and singles 45 rpm. on a Thorens TD 166 BC turntable with a Goldring 1006 MM cartridge. Considering that the usual classifications such as Mint, EX, Vg, etc…, etc… are not significant to explain the real condition of the records in addition to a total subjectivity of opinion, I always introduce before these classifications a short description concerning any defects I have verified with the exception of Mint minus, the highest grade I declare. I use MINT/MINT exclusively for the still from factory sealed copies.

Note : disco consigliatissimo a chi ama ascoltare bella musica funk, piacevoli canzoni e buon ritmo per concludere ridendo di gusto nell'esilarante e grottesca parodia della vergine tentata dal demonio. Ci sono cinque brani strumentali con belle caratteristiche funk. Loro comune denominatore è il tessuto sonoro molto percussivo. I ritmi sono sempre vivaci, ma in alcuni casi diventano frenetici, mentre in altri sono leggermente meno intensi. Nella primo gruppo possiamo includere "Night Out" (a3) e "Cynthia" (b3) entrambe caratterizzate da martellanti percussività, elettrizzanti improvvisazioni dell'organo, efficace linea di basso e buoni strumenti a fiato. Nel secondo gruppo "O.D." (a4) dove risalta una grande chitarra elettrica supportata da basso, fiati e batteria, "Riffin" (a5) con un ottimo drumming e "Layin back" (a6) con chitarra ancora in grande spolvero e bella presenza di basso, organo, fiati e percussioni. "This Time You'Re Right" (a1) è una piacevole ballata cantata da un non accreditato interprete maschile su una ritmica vivace guidata da basso, chitarra e strumenti a fiato. Di maggior dolcezza l'altra canzone, "Love Was Born Today" (b1), pure questa senza indicazione dell'interprete, con una bella linea melodica guidata dalla chitarra con alle spalle l'orchestra. Infine, il lato comico dell'album: "Translation" (b4) è il racconto delle tentazioni del diavolo verso una fanciulla vergine. Resterà tale grazie all'intervento di San Michele arcangelo entrando poi in convento per preservare la sua illibatezza. Ciò che veramente fa ridere è la grottesca teatralità del narratore quasi come se fosse ubriaco e che ripete in Inglese e in Italiano le varie fasi della storiellina. Da qui deriva il titolo del brano.  

Notes : a highly recommended album for those who like to listen to good funk music, pleasant songs from good rhythm and to laugh out loud in the exhilarating and grotesque parody of the virgin tempted by the devil. There are five instrumental tracks with very nice funk features. Their common denominator is a very percussive texture. Their rhythms are always lively, but in some cases become frantic, while in others are slightly less intense. In the first group we can include "Night Out" (a3) and "Cynthia" (b3), both characterized by pounding percussiveness, exciting organ improvisations, effective bass line and good wind instruments. In the second group "O.D." (a4) where stands out a great electric guitar supported by bass, woodwinds and drums, "Riffin" (a5) with an excellent drumming and "Layin back" (a6) with guitar still in great form and beautiful presence of bass, organ, wind instruments and percussion. "This Time You'Re Right" (a1) is an enjoyable ballad sung by an uncredited male performer on a lively rhythm led by bass, guitar and wind instruments. From sweeter nature the other song, "Love Was Born Today" (b1), again without the name of the singer, with a beautiful melodic line of guitar backed by the orchestra. Finally, the funny side of the album: "Translation" (b4) is the tale of the devil's temptations to a young virgin. She will remain so thanks to the arrival of the Archangel Michael and will go to the convent to preserve her virginity. What really makes me laugh is the grotesque theatrics of the narrator almost like he were drunk. He repeats in English and Italian the various stages of the short story. From here comes the track's title.

Una divertente commedia, parodia delle varie "Gole profonde" dell'epoca in un film interamente di produzione USA. Regia di Ray Marsh, con Frank Calcanini, Michael Pataki, Mike Kellin e Marianna Hill.
