Description

Mystery man Hollins - never interviewed as far as I know - with one of his two post war issues. His other Decca 78 is more common. This one obviously influenced John Lee Hooker who used the 'King Snake' theme himself to great effect. Hollins also recorded an earlier version in 1941. Superb sides with Sunnyland Slim along plus an unknown very agile acoustic? 2nd guitar - maybe Pete Franklin - contrasting with Hollins' gutsy guitar and deep vocals showing his Mississippi roots. A gem of a record. Chicago, 1951.
