TONY MIMMS & I PYRANAS Lp with "4 + 4" Di NORA ORLANDI all arrangements by TONY MIMMS production by GIACOMO TOSTI (of Dicky Oliver fame). Original Italian promo pressing on the RCA ITALIANA label (PSL 10454), from 1970. Cult, psychedelic jazz lounge / strange pop masterpiece with studio FX / tape manipulation and treated instrumentation. This session is so much more sophisticated compared to the blatant funky jazz of Giulietta e Romeo, recorded the same year. Think I Pyranas in dub a la JP Massiera featuring the deep basslines / congas and spacey horn section of JUDIE BLUE EYES (with looped scat vocal break outro) / the groovy bossa and drum breaks of VUCA (WAKE UP) comped on Easy Tempo Vol.5 / an amazingly lysergic version of the MIDNIGHT COWBOY soundtrack theme and the mellow vocals of Tony on the moody LADY OF THE ISLAND. Cool breaks and beats with clever, alternative versions of Lennon - McCartney / Crosby - Stills & Nash penned compositions too. Superb artwork sleeve. Rare Lp!!! Vinyl is in shiny, strong VG++ condition with light hairlines. Light surface noises. A few soft pops in places. Promo ink stamp to one side of label. Original RCA inner sleeve included. The thick card sleeve is closer to M- condition overall with minimal wear. Light ring marks and a few dirt spots from storage. Camera flash glare to front sleeve photo. Rare Lp!!!
