TONY OXLEY - INCUS RECORDS - INCUS 8 (LP)
1975 stereo release on the Incus label (which Oxley co-founded) catalogue number INCUS 8, of the self-titled album recorded over a four year period (71-75). These tracks illustrate the evolutionary development of Tony Oxley’s music, particularly his percussion vocabulary and free improvisation. Performers include Evan Parker (soprano sax), Dave Holdsworth (trumpet), Paul Rutherford (trombone), Howard Riley (piano), Barry Guy (bass), Derek Bailey (guitar), Tony Oxley (percussion, amplified percussion). Tracks: (Side 1) Never before or again, Solo percussion, Eiroc II; (Side 2) East of Sheffield, South east of Sheffield, P.P.1.
Disc is clean and shiny with one very light scratch on Side 2. Sound quality excellent with no background noise. Possibly an occasional very light tick – but they could be performance sounds, difficult to tell! Matt sleeve is intact but rather scruffy with surface scuffs plus edge/corner wear. Evidence of sticky label removal at top right front.
