Description

1954 Folkways Records FD 5558, this is an original pressing of the Tony Schwartz LP "New York 19". Schwartz was known for his "field recordings" of New York City, as he often traveled with his open mic in search of children playing, traffic jams, street musicians, background noise, etc. and also produced an entire album featuring his dog titled "This Dog's Life". Schwartz famously "discovered" the legendary street musician Moondog (who is featured on one track on this LP) and produced some of his earliest recordings. Anyhow, this LP captures life in NYC as only Schwartz could. Cover and insert liner note booklet are both in beautiful NM condition. Vinyl is VG++/VG+++ with some minor surface marks/hairlines on either side; sound quality is strong throughout. A really nice original of this scarce LP. Buyer pays $6.50 shipping in the US, $13.00 airmail overseas. I accept Paypal, US Postal Money Orders, and well concealed US Dollars. Thanks for looking and good luck!
