A landmark fusion album featuring John McLaughlin just before Tony Williams introduced him to Miles Davis, after which he played on 'In a Silent Way' and 'Bitches Brew'. Williams is in ferocious form here, Larry Young's Hammond B-3 organ playing is beguiling, and McLaughlin's guitar work scorching. This trio was the Jimi Hendrix Experience of jazz-fusion.
