Description
It's time for me to put up for auction a number of rare and collectible Tool LPs and Picture Disks that have been in storage for many years - in fact since they were first released or rereleased. All of this vinyl was originally sourced from the label at the time of the release or rerelease. As you will see some of the sleeves are either notched or BB holed as these copies were designated as internal record company promos to be given away. None of this vinyl has ever been played - so any wear that you see is due the way is it was originally handled/shipped or stored.
TOOL AENIMA. I am aware that there are some questions and perhaps even debate over which is the true 1st pressing - either with or without the BMG and which is the correct catalog number etc. So to help you I have faithfully listed all of the important cover details and ask and encourage you to do your own research so you can make your own best and informed decision. In addition, all of these details are clearly shown in the auction photographs. I will happily send you more pictures if you want see something not already shown. I will not open the wrapping so please don't ask for any pictures of the inner sleeves or of the LPs themselves. Also I apologize for my refection that may appear in some of the photographs - it is not part of the album art.
Up for auction. This is a rare "1st pressing" SS/notched copy of Tool's 1996 2LP "Aenima." This highly collectible album has the original and unopened factory sealed shrink wrap, that is in Near Mint condition - due to the small notch in the spine. This album is factory sealed so I have not seen the contents but can vouch that it definitely contains 2 LPs in inner sleeves, as this is just visible through the shrink wrap.
Album Sleeve Details - parental advisory sticker on front bottom right. - Tool Aenima sticker on front bottom middle shows REI code # 72445-11087-1 - shrink wrap is sealed with a broad seal down the middle of the reverse of the sleeve - Tool Aenima logo on spine 1.25" wide - type on bottom of sleeve reverse reads, "The BMG and Zoo Entertainment logos are trademarks of BMG Music • ? © 1996 BMG Music • All Rights Reserved • Manufactured and Distributed by BMG Entertainment, New York, NY • Printed in U.S.A. • 72445-11087-1" - REI code on bottom of spine 72445-11087-1 - Barcode catalog number 6 1422-31087-1 1
The shrink wrap is in NM condition as the there is a small approx 1/4" notch in the spine. There is also a very very faint (you can barely see it) line of tiny dots or even tiny perforations that run across the front of the sleeve 1.5" below the top edge. These tiny perforations are exactly alike and are evenly spaced exactly 1" apart. This must have been created during the packaging process and I have seen this on some other shrink wrapped Tool Vinyl I possess. There is one very tiny tear to the top left corner of the shrink wrap - probably caused by the packaging process
I am cautious to accept returns due to the fragile nature of the item which I have listed in exact detail. For any concerns or questions please ask questions and I will send more pictures and or add extra description. I will package the item very carefully to ensure that it is not damaged during shipping.
I will add insurance to the shipment if you would like. Should you want to return the item then please package it very carefully and return it in the exact condition that you received it.
Thanks and Good Luck
CONFUSION. I encourage you to do your own research as I have found confusing and conflicting information even on the same established websites. For example on tool buyer's guide it describes the A pressing as having no BMG logo, however, lower down on the same page a photograph is posted that is titled "Aenima Original Pressing" that shows the BMG logo with the same matching codes as the version up for auction here. The site describes these 2 slightly different versions as A and B pressings, which I assume to mean that they are both 1st pressings as opposed to one being a later repressing - confused? I encourage you to read the comments section. There are other sites that offer information. Thanks for reading
