PLEASE READ BEFORE BIDDING: Please read the entire auction listing, including shipping costs, before writing to ask a question. OUR GOAL IS CUSTOMER SATISFACTION. In order to meet that goal, we will ALWAYS work with our customers on any concerns that may arise. In the unlikely instance that you feel the need to open a resolution dispute before working with us, you will immediately be blocked from any further chance to acquire the rare music we present each and every week. Payment is required within seven days. We mail all paid items ONE WEEK after auctions end. Please keep in mind our listings are time consuming in detail and we are often traveling to find these gems, which at times delays the delivery schedule by a day or two. We ALWAYS process and ship every paid order. We have no control over parcels once they are mailed from our local Post Office.Overseas mail to some countries (Italy, Russia, France, in particular) has became very slow. Opening a dispute for slow mail is unacceptable and will result in blocking the bidder. We work hard to provide excellent service as is represented by our 8000 plus positive feedback. We use a VPI machine and thoroughly clean all records. Each order is carefully packaged by removing the LP from the jacket to avoid seam splits, use of 3 ml plastic cover sleeves over each LP and jacket, cardboard pad inserts, and placed in sturdy record mailers for safe delivery. We take Customer Service seriously, and want you to be satisfied. Please give us 5 stars in each category through the feedback system, and we will be able to effectively continue to fulfill your passion for rare and collectible music! We have served thousands of satisfied customers - far more than our feedback records indicate - and our aim is to continue to do so. Thank you for your interest and support. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ SHIPPING: USA ~ 1 LP $4.00 Media; 2-4 discs $5.00; .50 each additional disc Priority rates vary by area; please inquire. Hard to find clean like this = Original 1969 first pressing on the highly collected GOLD Elektra label ... contains the original Gold Elektra inner sleeve to the pressing...
The Butterfield Blues Band has been critically acclaimed as one the greatest electric blues bands ever! Lead by singer & harmonica player Paul Butterfield, their albums have stood the test of time as classics of the 60's & early 70's. In My Own Dream, was their fourth album, originally released in 1968 on Elektra Records. It features guitar legend Elvin Bishop (singing on 'Drunk Again'), and saxophonist David Sanborn. "In My Own Dream" rose to number 79 on the Billboard charts...
One of Paul Butterfield's best albums means it's one of the best albums of its era. This incarnation of the Butterfield Blues Band is a stirring mix of jazz, blues and soul. The personnel is Paul Butterfield on the harmonica and vocals, Elvin Bishop on guitar and vocal, David Sanborn on alto sax, Bugsy Maugh on the bass and vocals, Phillip Wilson on drums and vocals, Naffy Markham on the keyboards and Al Kooper guests on two of the songs on keyboards.
Several things about this group stand out in the Butterfield opus. The vocals harmonies are the best on any of his albums, the lead vocals are more soulful than bluesy and the instrumental emphasis is on the group sound more than individual solos -- and strong solos abound. Bishop's guitar work tears up the end of "Drunk Again" and Dave Sanborn has a wonderful solo on the title song. But the overall emphasis is the hallmark of a great Chicago blues band -- the way that everybody is doing little fills all the time, never getting in each other's way and the way it all adds up to something very rich and satisfying like a complex musical stew. These guys are a treat.
