Payment is required within seven days. We mail all paid items ONE WEEK after auctions end. Please keep in mind our listings are time consuming in detail and we are often traveling to find these gems, which at times delays the delivery schedule by a day or two. We ALWAYS process and ship every paid order. We have no control over parcels once they are mailed from our local Post Office.Overseas mail to some countries (Italy, Russia, France, in particular) has become very slow. Opening a dispute for slow mail is unacceptable and will result in blocking the bidder. We work hard to provide excellent service as is represented by our 8000 plus positive feedback. We use a VPI machine and thoroughly clean all records. Each order is carefully packaged by removing the LP from the jacket to avoid seam splits, use of 3 ml plastic cover sleeves over each LP and jacket, cardboard pad inserts, and placed in sturdy record mailers for safe delivery. ORIGINAL 1974 first pressing in laminated cover with colorful fantasy artwork ... the second important album by ANGE whose music is spellbinding and which keeps the listeners attention - even if in another language...one of the best of the types for non-English vocal Lp's...
Fans of symphonic French Prog generally regard this as one of the two best albums by that country's most quintessential band, and loving this album for years, we're not about to argue the matter.In less than forty minutes this wonderful LP manages to sum up just about the entire progressive rock tradition in the 1970s, from gentle 12-string ballads to heavy electric distortion guitar riffing, and from oddball spoken word narratives to ultra-tight instrumental workouts, all with a Gallic whimsy and fatalism easily translated across any language barrier. At times reminiscent of early King Crimson, Pink Floyd yet with a acid-injected French folk touch to it all.
This is essential progressive stuff, the band creates beautiful melodies but can also kick your ass, in heavy-rock like kind of attack, of the early 70's. Another thing is the keys are played with changing speed and pitch which makes them sound slightly out of tune, giving a wonderful edge. Ange is performing in this manner a lot, in their other albums too.
It is hard to pick a favourite track but 'Si j'étais le Messie' is fantastic with the atmosphere and slightly deranged monologue with full body of atmospheric sounds, this track really shows their diversity in music. All tracks are strong throughout both sides...so overall you can't do wrong with this LP -- especially if you enjoy progressive music with a big (circa 1970) King Crimson atmosphere, sensitivity and creativity. It's considered a masterpiece by many...
